Banners
As with the majority of the theme you have the option to either use one of the bundled banner images or upload a banner image or your own.
Click on Banners in the Customizer.
Uploading Your Own Banner
If you click on the first option Select image you’ll be greeted with the, now probably familiar, upload image popup. By default it allows you to choose images you’ve already uploaded to the site.
If you’re new to this you’ll want to click on Upload Files in the top left corner then press Select Files. You’ll then be able to choose an image from wherever it is saved on your computer.
Throughout you’ll notice that you’re reminded the size should be 1920 x 1280 pixels minimum size. If your image is smaller then it may stretch and not look as good. If it’s bigger then you can either crop it or the theme will only show a portion of the image.
Larger images can still look great so I’d encourage you to experiment. But if experimentation isn’t for you or you just want to get up and running faster then ignore the option to select files and move on to the next dropdown:
Banner Background
We’ve included a selection of background images to match any genre to get you started. Just click on the dropdown menu under Banner Background. There is a list of images you can select and see what they look like on your site.
Overlay Style
Whether you’ve chosen your own image or used one of ours, it may have caused issues with readability of the text on the banner. Don’t worry!
From the Overlay Style dropdown select Light or Dark.
This will change the look of the banner to ensure the text is readable.
Buy Button Colorscheme
Depending on the banner you use, yo may also find the Buy button for your book isn’t easy to see.
Once again we’ve provided the ability to change this in the next dropdown menu with you can either change to Light or Dark.
Don’t forget to click the blue Publish button at the top once you’re happy with the changes you’ve made and the changes will be transferred to the live site.
